IMIA attends the Central Bank’s Financial System Conference

Representatives from the IMIA attended the Central Bank of Ireland ‘s (CBI) Financial System Conference- Achieving good outcomes in an uncertain world. Read the press release here: https://lnkd.in/gXc9weJr

The IMIA looks forward to the publication of the Feedback Statement to CP-153 next week and will continue to support members in their implementation plans. The Individual Accountability Framework is one of the topics that our member firms have been most engaged with; from the consultation responses, to presentations and working group meetings.

The IMIA welcomes the publication of the Consultation Paper on Innovation (CP-156). The Stakeholder Forum has facilitated cross industry discussions through its Innovation Sub-Group including on the potential formation of a regulatory sandbox and expansion of its existing Innovation Hub. However, the proposal for industry to fund this Sandbox through levies will be a point of discussion. The IMIA have long advocated for a more transparent levy funding model and would welcome a separate consultation on industry levies.

It was indicated that the Consumer Protection Consultation Paper will be launched in January 2024, following the publication of the Discussion Paper earlier this year. The IMIA have highlighted the need to align the review of the Consumer Protection Code with the Retail Investment Strategy to avoid duplication and misalignment.
